Together we are preparing our building and our lives to proclaim the gospel to the next generation. Our campaign to raise funds for our building is going great. We have raised over $400,000 towards renovations. Currently there is a challenge gift that will match any other gifts dollar-for-dollar. So, if you have not made your commitment or decided how the Lord is calling you to participate, please continue to pray for our campaign prayer: Lord, what would you do through me? If you are unable to participate financially, please let us know by filling out a card and putting a zero in the contribution line.
You might be wondering how the renovation process will unfold. The session has set up a number of committees that will set our priorities and make decisions.
The Renovation Oversight Committee - Sets priorities for entire renovation and allocation of campaign contributions. Their overall plans will be communicated to and approved by the Session. Members include: Paul Belk, Gene Rees, Skyler Harrison and Mike Branch with Barry Schneider and Griff in an ex-officio capacity.
The Sanctuary Renovation Committee - Works with architect Terry Eason to represent the needs of the congregation in order to develop a liturgical master plan to make the sanctuary more beautiful, accessible and functional and to consider how the 1950’s education building can be made more welcoming, accessible and functional. Their plan will be recommended to the Session by the Renovation Oversight Committee.
Members include: Gene Rees, Mike Branch, Cecelia Belk, Libby Pell, Garrett Draughn, Christie Sheppard, Anna Bush, and Griff Gatewood, ex officio.
Fellowship Hall Kitchen Committee - Will make a recommendation to the Renovation Oversight Committee about how to modify and upgrade the Kitchen to meet our current needs. Members include: Mike Branch, Peggy Rees, Marinda Rives.
